Introduction:
The Admissions Department is responsible for receiving high school students and those wishing to transfer from outside Kuwait University to Kuwait University, as well as responding to their inquiries regarding admission and transfer requirements. It is also the department in charge of preparing various statistics for all work centers at Kuwait University. The Admissions Department is divided into three administrative sections, each with different responsibilities as outlined below.
Admissions Section:
The Admissions Section handles all matters related to the admission of high school students and equivalent qualifications to Kuwait University. Its responsibilities include informing students about all admission rules and requirements for enrollment at Kuwait University through organizing and participating in university admission fairs. The section also assists prospective students in completing the application procedures for admission to Kuwait University when needed. Additionally, the Admissions Section is the authorized body for calculating the results of IELTS, TOEFL IBT, and TOEFL PBT as alternatives to the Academic Aptitude Test in English on the electronic admission system of Kuwait University. It is also responsible for the equivalency of courses taken by a student after obtaining an accredited high school certificate, before their enrollment at the university, provided that the equivalency conditions for these courses are met.
Grants and External Transfers Section:
The Grants and External Transfers Section is responsible for responding to all inquiries related to students wishing to transfer from foreign universities and some colleges of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training to Kuwait University. It is the official body tasked with receiving admission applications from candidates of the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences and members of the Kuwaiti army and National Guard, in accordance with the conditions set by each entity for studying at Kuwait University. Additionally, the Grants and External Transfers Section is responsible for receiving applications for cultural scholarships nominated by embassies, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, charitable organizations, or the National Commission (UNESCO) for studying at Kuwait University.
Statistics and Technical Support Section:
The Statistics and Technical Support Section provides various statistics requested by different university entities. Its responsibilities include analyzing information and organizing essential basic data for the Deanship of Admissions and Registration to support decision-making and producing comprehensive annual reports for all colleges at Kuwait University, containing information on the numbers of accepted, enrolled, and graduated students.
